Knovel Leverages Senior Leadership to Maintain Strong Market Position
NEW YORK-- March 12th, 2007 -- Knovel Corporation (www.knovel.com), a leading provider of revolutionary engineering research and information services, proudly announces a series of new appointments and promotions within its management infrastructure. Robert E. Smith comes to Knovel as the Vice President of Information Technology, John Dooley has joined Knovel as the Vice President of Sales and Delores Meglio has been promoted to Vice President of Content Management.

Robert E. Smith, Vice President of Information Technology, brings 18 years of experience to Knovel, most recently as the Director of Enterprise Platform Services and Architecture for Harcourt Assessment, a member of the Reed Elsevier family of companies. Robert's career accomplishments include the alignment of information technology strategy with corporate business objectives, leveraging technology to create competitive advantage, utilizing innovation and technology to improve business performance, and capitalizing on technology to maximize customer value. Prior to Harcourt, Smith worked for IBM's National Architecture & Technology Practice Center of Excellence, along with Eastman Kodak's Image Bank.
John Dooley, Vice President of Sales, comes to Knovel with 18 years of sales management experience delivering cutting edge state of the art technology. As the North American Director of Sales for UGS, a Product Lifecycle Management Solutions company, John was instrumental in accelerating sales productivity and major account development, while achieving record setting revenue. Prior to UGS, John worked for Kyocera as National Sales Manager. John will assume immediate responsibility for Knovel's market share growth, revenue and business development.
Delores Meglio, Vice President of Content Management, has been with Knovel since 2003 as Editorial Director. She has been responsible for negotiating publisher contracts and aggregating content for corporate and academic markets. In her new role, she will be responsible for the entire content process, from strategic development to negotiations to production. Prior to Knovel, Meglio served as the Senior Vice President for Ziff-Davis and Thompson Corporation where she produced more than 100 highly profitable online and Web-enabled databases. As Vice President of the New York Times information division, Meglio developed ground-breaking databases for the White House as well as the oil, gas, and energy industries. She is a recognized expert in the field of digital publishing, database management, and content aggregation.
